Simple Instructions for Patients When Starting Therapy
1. Usually, new patients start @ 0.25 mg per week of semaglutide or 2.5 mg of tirzepatide injected subcutaneously (abdomen or arms).
2. The starting dose will be for 4 weeks, then patients will double the dose to 0.5 mg every 4 weeks until goal is achieved or you hit 1.5 mg per week. If patients need to go beyond 1.5 mg per week, you will need approval by the doctor. Plan to take the medication for at least 6 months or longer.
